Carolyn Buchan
FOUNDER/DIRECTOR
Carolyn began her Journey in law 30 years ago as a Clerk in the Caboolture Courthouse. The same year she was awarded a Scholarship to Bond University and studied dual degrees in Psychology and Law. Her Legal career has included positions with the Department of Justice, Corrective Services, Child Safety, The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and Queensland Police and Lectured in Justice Studies at Gold Coast Tafe, teaching Policing, Corrections and Evidence Subjects, while working as a Solicitor.
Carolyn has been a Justice of the Peace for 30 years and a Solicitor for nearly 20 years.
Carolyn has spent many years in Court rooms advocating on behalf of clients in Criminal, Domestic Violence, Child Protection, Family Law and Civil Law.
Terry Stedman
He is a descendant of the Kamilaroi peoples of New South Wales on my fathers side of the family. He is widely recognised in the community I live in as accepted as part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. In my earlier life I worked as a plumber and drainer and then later as a correctional officer in Queensland and later in New south Wales. I became an admitted Solicitor in 2006 and then entered in the High Court Register of Practitioners
Terry enjoys assisting clients in areas of Family Law, Domestic and Family Violence, Child Protection and Criminal Law.
Terry is passionate about assisting parents in Child Protection Courts. He was instrumental in establishing the State’s first Duty Lawyer Service for Child Protection matters at Beenleigh Children’s Court. in 2017 he was awarded two awards by the Queensland Law Society – Solicitor of the Year - Equity and Diversity and Solicitor of the Year – Community Legal Service.
We attend Courts in Beenleigh, Beaudesert, Southport and Brisbane.
