Carolyn Buchan
FOUNDER/DIRECTOR
Her career started as an Administrative Officer in the Court house as a 21 year old. The same year she was awarded a Scholarship to Bond University and studied dual degrees in Psychology and Law for the next seven years. Her career has included positions with the Department of Justice, Corrective Services, Child Safety, The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and Queensland Police. She has been a Solicitor for over ten years and also Lectured in Justice Studies at Gold Coast Tafe, teaching Policing, Corrections and Evidence Subjects, while also working as a Solicitor.
Carolyn is a Thoroughbred Horse breeder, Horse Trainer and rider and lives on property near Beaudesert, she enjoys spending time on the Gold Coast, Camping and Travelling.
Terry Stedman
He is a descendant of the Kamilaroi peoples of New South Wales on my fathers side of the family. He is widely recognised in the community I live in as accepted as part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. In my earlier life I worked as a plumber and drainer and then later as a correctional officer in Queensland and later in New south Wales. I became an admitted Solicitor in 2006 and then entered in the High Court Register of Practitioners
Terry enjoys assisting clients in areas of Family Law, Domestic and Family Violence, Child Protection, Debt recovery, Neighbourhood Disputes. He also delivered Community Legal Education (CLE) on topics including Enduring powers of attorney, Wills and Child Protection. He was instrumental in establishing the State’s first Duty Lawyer Service for Child Protection matters at Beenleigh Children’s Court. in 2017 he was awarded two awards by the Queensland Law Society – Solicitor of the Year - Equity and Diversity and Solicitor of the Year – Community Legal Service.
